Guided by our specially created "Winter Secrets" map, you will embark on a self-guided journey through Walcowrie’s private bushland, where the cooler months reveal a vibrant landscape alive with activity.

This isn’t just a walk; it is a sensory immersion. Breathe in the crisp air as you listen for the clearer songs of native birds and keep watch for the flash of colour from a Scarlet Robin or the busy digging of an echidna. Our map will lead you to seasonal treasures that only appear now: the golden bloom of Black Wattle and up to ten delicate varieties of native orchids.

Wander past local landmarks like the "megalosaurus" sculpture and search for the master builder’s hidden hat - moments of whimsy that connect you to the history and heart of this place. It is the simple pleasure of unplanned discovery, found only here, and only in winter.
